Charalampos Tsavdaroglou

Post-doctoral Researcher

Charalampos Tsavdaroglou is Post-doctoral Researcher in the Horizon program: Arrival infrastructures as sites of integration for recent newcomers (REROOT) at the Department of Economics, University of Thessaly. Moreover he is visiting professor on Human Geography at the School of Humanities, Hellenic Open University. Charalampos holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning, from School of Architecture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2016).  During the academic years 2017-2021 he was Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Amsterdam and Post-doctoral Researcher at the University of Thessaly, University of the Aegean and at National Hellenic Research Foundation. He has been appointed as adjunct faculty member (Lecturer) at the University of the Aegean, University of Thessaly, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Hellenic Open University where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate modules on Human Geography, Cultural Geography, Migration in Europe, Urban Planning, Spatial Governance and Theories of Commons. Over the years he has participated in more than 100 scientific conferences, symposiums and workshops, and he has published more than 50 academic articles in major urban studies, human geography and urban planning journals and collective volumes. His research interests include critical urban theory, autonomy of migration, intersectional, decolonial and affective geographies, the right to the city, common spaces versus spatial enclosures and urban social movements.
